Custom software & prototyping

Typical projects are business applications replacing overgrown Excel landscapes, customer portals with self-service features, internal tools for planning, pricing, or scheduling, and systems that connect your existing software through clean APIs. We also integrate AI capabilities like document processing or assistants directly into the application. You don't get a customized standard product - you get software whose data model, permissions, and workflows match your business.

For an internal tool, we start with data sources, ownership and the steps currently lost between spreadsheets. A customer portal also needs clear boundaries between customers, roles and approvals: who can see which orders, documents or invoices? We assess whether existing software and integrations are sufficient or a custom application makes sense. Start with a bounded workflow, not a replacement for every system you run.

A functional prototype makes an idea usable: test workflows with real users, compare approaches and collect feedback. A proof of concept (PoC) tests a technical uncertainty, such as an integration, data pipeline or AI capability. Together we define the hypothesis and a measurable success criterion. Scope, timing and cost follow that question; a prototype does not automatically need a production system's budget or architecture.

A prototype supports learning and is not automatically designed for ongoing operation. An MVP delivers a small, usable product scope for first real customers. A production application also needs to meet agreed requirements for security, reliability, permissions and maintainability. We clarify early whether the code should be carried forward or a deliberately limited experiment is the better choice.

Standard software wins when your process is interchangeable - accounting, payroll, email. Custom software wins when the process is your competitive advantage, when per-seat license costs compound past the cost of owning a solution, or when you're hitting the limits of Excel, Access, or a legacy ERP add-on. In the first call we'll tell you honestly if a standard solution would be cheaper - it happens, and then we recommend it.

We estimate your project based on learning goals, functionality, integrations and operating requirements. A limited prototype or PoC is a different engagement from an MVP or production platform. You get a clear estimate and milestones, without blanket minimum prices or artificial deadlines for experiments.

We start with compact scoping: understand processes, identify uncertainties and define the next valuable step. Short iterations give you working software to try and feed back on. Tests, architecture and documentation match the agreed use. After validation we can develop a production application, add features and integrations, or provide maintenance. You own the source code and can hand development over to your team.

You work directly with senior engineers and get honest recommendations: prototype, standard software or a custom application, whichever best supports your goal. For production use we plan data access, hosting, testing and operations together. EU hosting is available; data protection requirements need assessment of your actual project, not just its server location.
